Federalberghi’s May 2024 report on Italy’s tourism industry shows a 3.6% increase in hotel attendance in the first two months of the year compared to 2019. Foreign tourist spending in January alone was EUR 2.7bn, and Italian airports saw 40.2 million passengers in the first quarter, up 7.2% from 2019. Despite these gains, confidence among businesses, tourism companies, and consumers is declining.
