A one-minute video released on 8 July 2025 by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment explores the challenges and opportunities in shifting to a truly circular economy across Europe. It poses key questions - 'Why are we not more circular? How can we be more circular?' and introduces the Circular Economy Act as the cornerstone of the EU’s strategy to transition away from the current linear model.

The clip highlights the imperative to decouple economic growth from resource use, safeguard natural resources, create green jobs, and halt biodiversity decline. It stresses that adopting circular consumption and production can significantly reduce environmental impacts and double Europe’s circular material use rate by 2030.
