The project, a collaboration with the County Administrative Board of Värmland, aims to establish a systematic approach to quality-assured trails for outdoor recreation and tourism. It seeks to develop new methods for quality labeling, management, and cost distribution concerning trails, primarily hiking trails but also others, to create a unified, developed, and quality-assured trail system in Värmland. This system serves as essential infrastructure for both society and the tourism industry, fostering rural tourism development and job creation. As a pilot project, it lays the groundwork for further trail development within the county and aims to provide a model for national trail management. Running from November 11, 2020, to June 30, 2024, its importance lies in enhancing outdoor experiences, supporting local economies, and setting a standard for trail management nationally.
