The Amazing Amazon of Europe (AoE) project, part of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme and funded by the European Union, was active from July 2020 to December 2022. Led by the Iskriva institute, it aimed to drive sustainable economic growth and tourism development by harnessing the region’s unique natural and cultural heritage. Through strategies like the Responsible Green Destination Tourism Impact Model and flagship products such as the River Trail and Hiking Trails, the project seeks to create sustainable tourism solutions that offer memorable experiences for international visitors and protect the region’s diversity and resources.
