CAPITEN (Atlantic Cluster for Technological and Economic Innovation in the Nautical Sector) was an initiative supported by the INTERREG Atlantic Area regional development programme. Running from 2017 to July 31, 2022, and managed by Donegal County Council, the project aimed to boost economic growth and job creation in the nautical sector along the Atlantic coast. Its objectives included enhancing coastal maritime activities, attracting visitors to partner regions, and fostering economic, social, and environmental benefits. CAPITEN promoted innovation in marine leisure products, yachting, and technological advancements, while advocating for sustainable practices.
