The INNOCASTLE project, funded by the Interreg Europe programme, operated from June 1, 2018, to November 30, 2022. Its goal was to innovate policy instruments for historic castles, manors, and estates (HCME) to foster rural and regional development and innovation. The project aimed to unlock the potential of HCME for job creation, educational improvement, life quality enhancement, and social inequality reduction. By encouraging interregional cooperation and crafting new policies, INNOCASTLE emphasized the importance of effective funding and sustainable revitalization, highlighting our shared European identity and the need for heritage sites to become self-sufficient.
