About the platform
About the platform
The EU Agri-Food Platform is a dedicated one-stop shop for stakeholders shaping the future of the European agri-food system. It supports companies, farmers, cooperatives, research and education organisations, public authorities, industry associations and other actors across the food supply chain, with particular attention to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Platform builds on the experience of the Transition Pathway for the agri-food industrial ecosystem, published by the European Commission in 2024 and developed in collaboration with agri-food stakeholders. It brings together relevant information, opportunities, knowledge and organisations to help translate the pathway’s ambitions into practical action and support a more sustainable, digital, resilient and competitive agri-food ecosystem.
The Platform also builds on the Agri-Food Code, officially known as the EU Code of Conduct on Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices. The Code is a voluntary, industry-led initiative launched in 2021 to accelerate the transition towards sustainable food systems. It sets out seven aspirational objectives and enables companies, associations and other organisations to make concrete commitments through pledges and report on their progress. The Platform provides access to the list of Agri-Food Code signatories, their commitments, achievements and reports, offering practical examples that can inspire further action across the ecosystem. All organisations active in the agri-food field are welcome to join the Code, with SMEs especially encouraged to do so.
