The World Tourism Event 2023, organized by ENIT and hosted in Piedmont from September 21 to 23, 2023, represented a significant initiative aimed at transforming UNESCO World Heritage sites into vibrant cultural hubs. With support from the European Union and collaboration from international buyers and tourism stakeholders, the event included workshops, cultural performances, and discussions aimed at promoting sustainable tourism practices and celebrating Piedmont’s rich cultural heritage. The initiative sought to boost tourism, stimulate local economies, and foster greater appreciation and preservation of UNESCO-designated landmarks worldwide.
