The Sustainability Codes of Conduct for consumers aim to steer tourist behavior across various global activity settings, acting as a supplement rather than a replacement for existing codes of conduct. Tour and activity operators striving to shape traveler behavior to enhance the positive impacts of tourism and mitigate negative ones may choose to adopt these Codes of Conduct in their entirety. They encompass a series of general "Traveler Tips" along with specific Codes of Conduct tailored to various tourism activities. Developed within the framework of the SUSTOUR project, these codes draw from the Sustainability Codes of Good Practice – A Global Framework for Tourism Activities, originally crafted for excursion providers within the same project.
