On 16 July 2019, the European Parliament and the Council introduced the Open Data Directive, which replaced the Public Sector Information (PSI) Directive. This directive aims to create a unified legal framework for the reuse of public sector information throughout the European Union. It outlines the principles and standards for making public sector information accessible, ensuring it can be freely used, modified, and shared by anyone. For more details on European legislation regarding open data, the implementation process of the directive into national laws of EU countries, a list of High-Value datasets, and links to relevant legislation documents and news, visit the European Commission’s overview via the attached link.
