European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) are a network of around 255 not-for-profit organisations across the EU and associated countries offering manufacturing SMEs free or heavily subsidised access to technology testing, training and advice on digital transformation, with a strong focus on AI as the hubs enter their second phase of operation running from 2026 to 2029.

Each EDIH is expected to provide four core services: 'test before invest' access to equipment and expertise, training and skills development, support in finding relevant financing, and networking with wider innovation ecosystems including AI Factories and testing facilities. Several hubs specialise directly in this ecosystem's priority technologies - for example, Austria's AI5production hub focuses on AI and robotics for production, while the Netherlands' BOOST Robotics hub supports manufacturing SMEs adopting automation. A company can find its relevant regional hub through the Commission's EDIH catalogue.
