A three-year project called the Tractus-X Accelerator, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and running from 2026 to 2029, officially began implementation on 1 September 2026, with a kickoff event bringing partners together in Berlin on 23 September. ARENA2036, Catena-X Automotive Network, Fraunhofer ISST and the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) are combining their expertise to make Eclipse Tractus-X, currently the technical foundation of the automotive sector's Catena-X data space, available to other industrial domains.

The Tractus-X Accelerator is a cohort-based support programme for projects, developers and organisations, built specifically to lower the technical and organisational barriers that have so far kept the underlying open-source infrastructure largely confined to automotive use cases, with structured onboarding and qualification of new projects and developers as one of five focus areas. The partners describe this explicitly as an ecosystem effort rather than a top-down rollout: the Berlin kickoff is meant to network participating organisations and individuals, align on core content priorities, and open discussion on the long-term sustainability of Tractus-X as a shared, growing open-source foundation. For manufacturers and technology providers outside the automotive sector who have watched Catena-X and Manufacturing-X develop without an accessible entry point, this programme offers a more structured route into using the same proven data-sovereignty infrastructure for their own supply chains, rather than having to build equivalent capability from scratch.
