Through this new edition, the government aims to lay the foundations for an integrated vision capable of uniting the efforts of various institutional, territorial, and civil society stakeholders. Mr. Lahcen Saadi, Secretary of State for Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, describes this approach as a "convergence dynamic," capable of optimising resources and unifying interventions in the regions. The government official commended the commitment of the members of the executive branch for their concrete involvement in aligning public policies to benefit the SSE. Finally, Mr. Saadi acknowledged the tireless work of stakeholders on the ground: cooperatives, associations, mutual insurance companies, social enterprises, regional elected officials, professional chambers, and NGOs committed to socioeconomic inclusion. He emphasized the urgent need to strengthen synergies and promote innovative practices emerging throughout Morocco.
Closing his remarks, he expressed his hope that these conferences would be a forum for open and constructive dialogue, leading to concrete recommendations to strengthen the role of the social and solidarity economy (SSE) in public policy. This ambition is fully in line with the Sovereign's vision, geared toward inclusive and resilient human development.
Morocco is an example of how a social and solidarity economy can create wealth, employment, and inclusive development in many economic sectors. During the conference, agreements were signed between the Ministry of Tourism, Social Economy, and Handicrafts and 15 other public departments! What the European Union essentially calls industrial ecosystems. From the digital transition to culture, from crafts to the textile industry, from rural development to female entrepreneurship, the list is long and substantial.
Morocco is also ideally and geographically positioned as an economic and cultural gateway between the African continent, the Mediterranean and Europe. Today, it is one of the reference points for the entire African social and solidarity economy.
"The aim is to be able to build a bridge of collaboration between the operational reality of Diesis Network's more than 70 members and their more than 100,000 companies and organisations active in 40 countries around the world and your wonderful country, its people and its social and solidarity economy.”
