The digital workplace transformation represents a pivotal shift in how businesses operate, leveraging digital technologies to foster a more efficient, collaborative, and innovative environment. This goes beyond adopting new technologies, it's about a cultural shift toward embracing continuous learning and innovation.

SEEDING (Social Economy Enterprises addressing Digitalisation, Industrial Relations and the European Pillar of Social Rights) aimed to be the first project to address Social Economy Enterprises and digital transformations, exploring how social economy enterprises and their employers’ organisations deal with the impact on employment and working conditions. SEEDING ran from 1 April 2019 - 31 September 2021 and the participating countries were France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Spain.

The project focused on improving working conditions in the social economy sector across Europe by promoting good practices in worker participation, social dialogue, and inclusive management models. The initiative brought together various stakeholders, including cooperatives, social enterprises, and labour unions, to exchange knowledge and develop strategies to ensure decent working conditions. Diesis contributed by facilitating collaboration and providing expertise on social economy principles, emphasising the importance of worker involvement in decision-making processes.

Key highlights include:

1. Focus on Social Dialogue: The project emphasised the importance of social dialogue as a tool for improving working conditions. By fostering communication between employers, employees, and unions, the initiative aimed to create more equitable and fair workplaces.

2. Worker Participation Models: One of the key areas of focus was promoting models of worker participation in governance and management. The project highlighted the success of cooperative and social enterprise models where workers have a say in decisions that affect their jobs.

3. Best Practices Exchange: The Seeding project facilitated the exchange of best practices across different European countries. This helped to spread effective strategies for improving working conditions and increasing job satisfaction within the social economy sector.

4. Policy Recommendations: Based on the findings and outcomes of the project, policy recommendations were developed to influence European labour policies. These recommendations aimed to support the development of more inclusive and participatory working environments.

5. Capacity Building: The project also focused on building the capacity of organisations within the social economy to implement better working conditions. This included training and resources to help these organizations adopt more participatory management practices.
