As of November 2024, the total number of submitted pledges is 214. 60% of pledges are linked to the Green Transition, while only 33% address the Digital Transition, with 7% categorized as "Other". If we focus on the different action areas, the highest number of pledges (13%) are on Addressing Capacity and Skills Gaps, followed by Reinforcing B2B Collaboration for Greener and Circular Value Chains and Boosting Digital Skills in the Social Economy.

Social Economy entities submitted most of the pledges (30% of total pledges), followed by EU Networks of Organizations (26%). Local and regional public authorities contributed significantly but academia and research organizations did not submit any pledges.

It´s important to note that some organizations have submitted multiple pledges, indicating a strong commitment.

Most pledges come from France (18%), Italy (13%), Austria, Spain, and Poland and a total of 43 pledges (20%) were submitted at the EU level. Eastern European and Nordic countries have lower participation, highlighting a need for further engagement.

Apart from the necessity of higher engagement and participation of these regions and countries like Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Cyprus, Malta and from academia and research centres, the digital transition is clearly underrepresented in the pledges. So, we would like to encourage you to submit pledges for the digital transition here until 1st June 2025!

In order to give you a little bit of inspiration, we have selected the following pledge made by Fondazione Piemonte Innova (Italy) on the action area 9: Data maturity and data-driven business models:

Piemonte Innova is dedicated to supporting non-profit organizations in their digital transformation journey. Leveraging business positioning, strategic roadmaps, skills analysis, and training initiatives, we are committed to supporting 15 entities per year by 2025. Our commitment extends beyond traditional approaches as we actively collaborate with strategic partners such as Torino Social Impact, Torino Chamber of Commerce, Salesforce Italia, Sas Institute, PrivacyLab, and through our managed projects. This comprehensive strategy aims to equip organizations with the necessary skills and insights to thrive in the digital landscape. Additionally, we underscore our commitment by initiating a new project each year (funded by regional, national, or European funds), specifically tailored to reinforce the adoption of data-driven approaches among nonprofits and SMEs. This refined commitment aligns with our dedication to measurable outcomes, ensuring that our efforts make a meaningful impact on the entities we support.

You can also get inspiration by reading the recently launched Code of Conduct for Data Sharing in the Social Economy.
