On July 2024, The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) presented the results of 3-years monitoring activities conducted in the context of the UNECE’s Call to Action, “The Sustainability Pledge”.
The Call to Action was launched in 2021 under the initiative “Enhancing transparency and traceability for more sustainable value chains in the garment and footwear” by leveraging on UNECE’s Recommendation No. 46.
Between April 2021 and June 2024, 110 pledges were submitted to the UNECE secretariat on specific actions to advance traceability and transparency in garment and footwear value chains. They came from 101 companies and organizations (i.e. actors), involved over 800 partners and 28 countries across 5 continents.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the UNECE Call to Action, a descriptive analysis of the pledges, the advancement status of the pledges, KPIs exploration for the pledges, and the incentives for the pledges.
The Sustainability Pledge 3-year monitoring report is accessible here.
