In May 2025, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation presented a list of 92 European cities awarded the EU Mission Label under the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. These cities have committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030 and are recognised for their ambitious plans and strong local engagement. The label supports access to funding, technical assistance, and visibility at the EU level.
