Cadore – Dolomiti s.c.s. is redefining what it means to build an inclusive and sustainable economy in a mountain region. By creating job opportunities for disadvantaged individuals through community-rooted services in environment, cleaning, tourism, and catering, the cooperative combines social impact with economic resilience in one of Italy’s most remote and beautiful areas.

A Cooperative Born from the Mountains
Located in the Dolomite mountains of northern Italy, Cadore – Dolomiti s.c.s. was born with a clear mission: to support the social and professional integration of disadvantaged people through meaningful employment. Inspired by the principles of mutuality and solidarity, this cooperative embodies the spirit of social enterprise: responding to community needs while advancing environmental, economic, and human sustainability.
Cadore – Dolomiti s.c.s. operates with no profit motive. Instead, it channels its efforts into creating work opportunities for its members, particularly those facing social or physical disadvantages. It does this through diverse services across three main sectors: environment and territory, global service (professional cleaning and maintenance), and community services. All activities are geared towards fostering local development and breaking down barriers to inclusion.
Empowering People Through Meaningful Employment
Cadore’s approach to inclusion goes far beyond simply offering jobs. It builds personalised, structured work integration programmes that support individuals in overcoming their unique challenges. By combining social support, training, and stable employment, the cooperative helps people who have been marginalised to reintegrate into society and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Creating Value in a Fragile Territory
Operating in a mountainous and often overlooked region, Cadore actively combats rural decline by generating employment and services where they are most needed. The cooperative recognises that work is not just an economic tool, but a powerful force for restoring self-esteem, preventing social exclusion, and revitalising the territory. Every job created contributes to the long-term sustainability of the mountain economy.
Working Across Three Vital Sectors
Cadore delivers high-quality, socially impactful services across three core areas:
- Environment and Territory: Maintenance of green spaces, management of waste collection points, environmental protection, and eco-centre operations.
- Global Service: Professional cleaning and sanitation of public offices, care homes, private companies, and solar panel systems.
- Community Services: Meal preparation and delivery, management of local tourism services, and small assembly tasks that meet the needs of the local population.
Impact You Can See and Feel
The cooperative's work has transformed lives and landscapes. Dozens of disadvantaged individuals have regained their independence and entered the labour market, while local communities have benefited from professional, reliable, and socially responsible services. Environmental interventions have helped preserve the delicate Alpine ecosystem, and community services have improved quality of life in remote villages.
Overcoming Challenges with Innovation
Operating in the mountains presents logistical and economic difficulties, from transport limitations to a lack of infrastructure. Nevertheless, Cadore has turned these challenges into strengths by remaining flexible, deeply embedded in local networks, and responsive to the real needs of the community. Its integrated approach shows that social inclusion and economic sustainability are not mutually exclusive, but mutually reinforcing.
A Model for Mountain Resilience
Cadore – Dolomiti s.c.s. remains committed to its founding mission: fostering social inclusion through the creation of employment opportunities for disadvantaged individuals. By continuing to develop diverse services across the environmental, community, and global service sectors, the cooperative contributes to the development and sustainability of mountain areas. Their focus on employment integration, territorial cohesion, and support for local communities remains central to their work.
