Limerick City and County Council has highlighted the success of its Childers Road Active Travel Scheme, which won the ‘Public Realm up to €5 million’ category at the 2025 Irish Construction Excellence Awards. The project enhances pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure, improving safety, accessibility, and connectivity across the city. As part of the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy, it supports sustainable urban mobility and aligns with the Limerick Development Plan 2022–2028.
