The WalkEUR project, funded by the EU under the Creative Europe programme, aimed to enhance the capacities of European Cultural Routes in promoting the continent’s rich and diverse heritage. Recognizing the challenges these routes faced, such as attracting visitors and engaging citizens in shared cultural experiences, WalkEUR sought to improve collaboration and develop essential skills for cultural tourism. The project focused on training courses, cultural project management, and effective marketing strategies. By fostering community participation and promoting awareness of cultural heritage, WalkEUR aimed to strengthen the role of Cultural Routes as key actors in intercultural exchange. The project commenced on 2 November 2020 and concluded on 1 May 2023, successfully covering three countries.
