The DEELforHOST project, a two-year initiative funded by the European Commission under Erasmus+ KA2, began in 2021. Its goal was to strengthen the connection between higher education and the hospitality and tourism industries by enhancing digital skills and tools for both students and businesses. Led by the University of Piraeus Research Centre in Greece, along with six partners, the project aimed to improve the ability of both sectors to effectively utilise digital resources, addressing the challenges posed by technological advancements and social changes. Key outcomes of the project include an innovative online learning platform, strategic alliances, and the promotion of digital transformation within the hospitality and tourism industries.
