Led by Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz, Austria, from July 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022, this project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program aimed to unlock the cultural and tourism potential of the Danube region's rich archaeological heritage across Austria, Slovenia, Romania, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Serbia. Recognizing the significance of this heritage in cultural and social development, the project leveraged new digital technologies like virtual and augmented reality to enhance visitor experiences, allowing them to virtually explore archaeological artifacts within their original landscapes. The project's success is evident through a series of exhibitions and applications, notably the "Stories of the Past: Digital Journey into Lost Landscapes" exhibition hosted in 10 countries.
