The European Commission highlights the METICOS project, funded under EU's Horizon 2020 programme, focusing on the acceptance of smart border control technologies. It showcases best practices in using big data analysis and innovative modelling to enhance user acceptance of smart border technologies, including biometric recognition and automated border control systems. Running from 2020 to 2023, its outcomes include improved efficiency and security in border management, while respecting travellers' privacy. This initiative aims to revolutionise border control, making it more seamless and secure.
