Reuse Federace is a growing national platform uniting furniture banks and reuse centres across the Czech Republic. Its mission is to embed reuse into everyday municipal practice—diverting usable goods from landfills and redistributing them to those in need.

One of its key projects is the development of a nationwide network of furniture banks, supported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. This initiative not only extends the lifespan of household items like furniture and appliances, but also supports vulnerable groups—by equipping low-income families with refurbished goods and creating local job opportunities in repair, logistics, and administration.

A major challenge in scaling this network was the fragmentation of local reuse efforts and a lack of systemic cooperation among municipalities. Reuse Federace addressed this by developing a shared digital platform and a standardised operational model for participating centres. This allowed smoother coordination, data tracking, and policy alignment, while offering municipalities a clear roadmap to set up or improve their own centres.

The organisation organises annual Reuse Days: A celebration of sustainability full of fun, workshops and inspiring lectures, thanks to which the public can experience the principles of REDUCE – REUSE – RECYCLE firsthand.

Today, Reuse Federace plays a central role in promoting a circular economy at the municipal level, integrating reuse into social services, and shifting public perception from waste to value. By bridging environmental and social goals, the federation exemplifies how local systems change can build resilience and solidarity.
