The mechanism aims to strengthen Europe’s security of supply by linking buyers and sellers of strategic raw materials and supporting the development of new projects across the value chain.
The Raw Materials Mechanism will help industry diversify supply chains and support new strategic raw materials projects. It will serve all European industries from green and digital technologies to aerospace and defence by connecting them with off-takers, suppliers, stockpiling service providers, and financial or investment partners.
Commercial negotiations will take place outside the platform, without the involvement of the European Commission.
The mechanism will:
- connect demand and supply for existing and future strategic raw materials
- support project development in the EU and in third countries
- link off-takers and suppliers with financial support and storage providers
- enable cooperation between companies, such as demand aggregation, joint purchasing, and investment consortia
The first matchmaking round will launch in Q1 2026.
Registrations are now open. We strongly encourage all eligible companies, on both the supply and demand sides, as well as financial institutions and stockpiling service providers, to register.
