Our Fertilizer Sectoral roadmap explored the future needs for producing ammonia only using RFNBO hydrogen instead of fossil fuel. The forecast shows that the amount of renewable electricity needed is: 69 TWh/a in 2030, 96 TWh/a in 2040, 124 TWh/a in 2050 for H2 production; 17 TWh/a in 2030, 26 TWh/a in 2040, 35 TWh/a in 2050 for further ammonia production (e.g., air capture, compressors). The total amounts to 86 TWh/a in 2030, 122 TWh/a in 2040, 159 TWh/a in 2050.
