The European Commission has launched a Call for Evidence to gather input on simplifying EU environmental legislation and reducing administrative burdens, particularly in areas such as the circular economy, industrial emissions, and waste management. Aimed at supporting businesses while upholding high environmental standards, the forthcoming environmental omnibus proposal will bring together measures to streamline reporting, permitting, and digitalisation.
Stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback via the Have Your Say portal by 10 September. This initiative is part of the EU’s Competitiveness Compass and supports the Commission’s commitment to reducing red tape by 25 % – and by 35 % for SMEs – by 2029.
