In the energy sector, with a strong mandate to act, the Commission continues its work to accelerate the clean energy transition and boost Europe’s competitiveness, under the leadership of Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen.

In its first year, the second von der Leyen Commission made significant progress in accelerating Europe’s clean energy transition, enhancing security, and reducing reliance on Russian fossil fuels. Looking ahead, the EU will continue strengthening its energy resilience, expanding renewable infrastructure, and ensuring affordable and sustainable energy for all.
