The European Commission has published the 2024 Annual Progress Report on the Transition Pathway for the Chemical Industry, reviewing progress made during the second year of implementation.
The report highlights advances across key building blocks, including investment and funding, research and innovation, regulation, access to energy and feedstock.
Key developments in 2024 include the establishment of the Stakeholder Support Platform, the launch of a new call for transition initiatives, continued collaboration through the Working Group on Chemical Industry, and targeted work by dedicated task forces on international competitiveness and energy and feedstock.
