First founded in 2004, the ECTP brings together the collective vision for a leading edge European Built Environment on behalf of its members. It gathers more than 150 member organisations from across the construction sector as well as other sectors from the whole supply chain of the built environment.

The ECTP is one of the European Technology and Innovation Platforms which are industry-led stakeholder fora recognised by the European Commission as key actors in driving innovation, knowledge transfer, and European competitiveness. 

The main areas of focus for the ECTP today include: 

  1. built environment decarbonisation (BED)
  2. built for life (B4L)
  3. digital built environment (DBE)
  4. heritage & regeneration (H&R)
  5. infrastructure & mobility (I&M)
  6. materials & sustainability (M&S).
