The Focused Policy Lab Event ‘Where People Choose to Stay: Creating Resilient Cities’, will take place on 22 and 23 September 2026 in Celje, Slovenia. The event will examine how urban authorities can respond to population decline while strengthening competitiveness, territorial cohesion and residents’ quality of life. 

Participants will explore approaches to attracting and retaining talent, adapting urban spaces and services, addressing housing and inclusion, and planning at Functional Urban Area level.
