The European Builders Confederation (EBC) is set to release a comprehensive study titled 'EU micro companies in the construction sector: rising to the 2040 climate challenge'. Conducted in collaboration with Belgian consultancy Climact, this research delves into how micro construction firms and craft businesses are adapting to the green transition. It examines key trends affecting skills, jobs, and business models for micro-enterprises across Europe.
The findings will be presented at the EBC’s 35th Anniversary Conference on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00 CET at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels. The event, held under the theme 'Small construction companies, big local impact: a 2040 vision for construction SMEs and crafts', aims to foster dialogue among policymakers, construction stakeholders, and SME representatives. Interpretation will be available in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
The conference not only marks the EBC’s 35th anniversary, but it also underscores the pivotal role of micro and small construction businesses in achieving the EU’s climate and energy goals. The full agenda and registration details will be shared soon.
