Without embracing AI, data, and technology, professionals' risk being marginalized as functions and job roles become automated or manageable by non-property experts supported by AI and technology solutions. Our sector must embrace this technological wave and adapt as roles and skill sets evolve.
Our commitment centres around assessing the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our sector, with a specific objective to address the impact of AI across the built and natural environment and create comprehensive guidance for our members and the sector. Our activities include:
- A sector-wide survey to understand the extent of AI adoption: gather insights into AI usage trends, and the ultimate goal is to develop guidance across different stages of the supply chain.
- Develop guidance that ensures high-quality data, and transparency, and addresses liability concerns for both individuals and their organisations.
- Disseminate our findings and insights through a series of papers throughout 2024. These papers will cover various facets of AI's impact on the sector, offering a comprehensive resource for RICS members to navigate the risks and opportunities associated with AI adoption.
The overarching goal is to equip RICS members and the industry with the guidance needed to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in the built environment.
