Despite the impact of the pandemic, Greece’s monthly occupancy rates surpassed pre-pandemic levels in 2022. In June 2024, the occupancy rate was 51.2%, which is 5.5% higher than the same period in 2019. The highest rate was recorded in the Attica region at 64.7%, while Central Greece had the lowest at 32.1%. The peak occupancy rates in Greece are typically observed in July and August. In 2022, the occupancy rate reached 72.8%, the highest since data collection began in 2019. Overall, monthly occupancy rates have consistently exceeded pre-pandemic levels, indicating a market recovery. More detailed data can be accessed through the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD) by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), which is available for free and can be customized to individual needs.
