In 2019, Latvia saw a peak in tourism with 2.9 million arrivals and 5.5 million nights spent in accommodation establishments. By 2023, the number of arrivals had recovered to 85.4% of the 2019 figures, while the number of nights spent reached 79.3% of pre-pandemic levels, indicating a market still recovering from the pandemic’s impact. More detailed data is available from the National Statistical System of Latvia, which offers a free, automatically updated statistical database. This database allows users to select criteria and explore the number of visitors and nights spent in hotels and other accommodation establishments by country of residence from 1993 to 2023 in Latvia.
