Based on the latest data from Statistik Austria, Tyrol province had the highest direct contribution to Austria’s economy through tourism in 2021, with a value-added impact of EUR 2.2 billion, accounting for 25.7% of the total. In contrast, Burgenland province had the lowest contribution, making up only 3.1% of the total direct value added. This trend mirrors the data from 2018, although the values were higher in 2018, due to the pandemic’s impact. For more detailed and historical data, Statistik Austria offers free access to their statistical databases, which are automatically updated.
