As reported by Eurostat, in the third quarter of 2024, guests spent 366.2 million nights in short-term rental accommodations in the EU, booked via platforms like Airbnb, Booking, Expedia Group and Tripadvisor, marking an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Each month in Q3 2024 saw a rise in nights booked, with August showing the highest increase at 21.6% compared to August 2023. Malta led the largest increase in August with a 41.4% rise, followed by Germany and France.
