The National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova provides data on foreign visitor arrivals to Moldova by country of origin for the period from 1992 to 2024. According to the latest figures, total arrivals rose significantly—from 43,597 in 2023 to 67,631 in 2024—representing a 55.1% year-on-year increase. Since 2019, when arrivals totalled 19,848, the sector has fully rebounded from the impact of the pandemic.

As of 2024, Moldova’s leading inbound tourism markets include Romania, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria, which together account for 82.9% of total arrivals. Notably, there has been strong growth from European countries outside the CIS region.
