The most recent figures from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia indicate that in 2023, the predominant motivations for travel among Slovenian citizens were for leisure and holidays, especially for relaxation and rest, accounting for 51.1% of all personal trip reasons, followed by visiting relatives and friends, which made up 35.4%. This pattern was consistent for both local and international journeys. In summary, leisure activities combined with visiting family and friends constituted 99% of all travel reasons for residents.
