In 2023, Italy welcomed a total of 133.6 million tourists, with 70.1% opting to stay in hotels and similar accommodations. When it comes to overnight stays, 61.6% of the 447.2 million total nights were spent in these establishments, a trend that has been quite stable over the years. The regions of Veneto and Lombardia saw the highest influx of tourists to accommodation facilities, comprising 28.8% of all arrivals that year.
