The EU Tourism Dashboard reveals that in 2022, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy were the most popular destinations within the EU. They reported total arrivals at tourist accommodation establishments of 168.9 million, 158.5 million, 133.1 million, and 118.5 million respectively. When compared to 2019, these countries remained the top choices for tourists within the EU, although the numbers varied from 131.4 million arrivals in Italy to 185.1 million in Germany. This indicates a decrease in tourism demand due to the pandemic, but it also underscores the continued appeal of these countries as tourist destinations.
