In Cyprus, foreign tourists tend to spend more when they travel via packages. In 2023, the average expenditure per person for accommodation in package trips was EUR 606.23, compared to only EUR 289.55 for individually organized travel. However, when it comes to additional expenses, the trend reverses. On average, a person spends EUR 264.60 in package travel and EUR 436.32 in individually organized travel. The total expenditure per person for package trips averages at EUR 870.83, while for individually organized travel, tourists typically spend EUR 725.87 per trip, or EUR 116.11 and EUR 78.05 per day respectively. This pattern, which was also observed in 2019, suggests that using tourism reservation services tends to increase the cost of tourism.
