According to Eurostat, this percentage has remained relatively stable over the years, except for 2020-2021 when it reached its lowest point in a decade at 52.4%. Simultaneously, nearly 50% of the total EU population had the opportunity to spend four nights or more while traveling. Consequently, almost half of the EU’s total population does not have the chance to travel due to various personal reasons.
