In 2023, the EU Tourism Dashboard reported an average tourism diversity level of 0.93 across EU destinations. France (0.98), Romania (0.97), Poland (0.94), and Italy (0.92) exhibited the highest diversity and well-balanced distribution of tourism supply across geographical zones. Conversely, Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, and Malta had the lowest diversity levels. Higher diversity is potentially associated with lower susceptibility to shocks and greater socio-economic resilience, while destinations with lower diversity indicators should consider strategies to mitigate negative impacts.
