The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has published the recording of its session held on 24 April 2025, which focused on crisis management in the European tourism sector. The session was led by Louis Bernard, founder of Crisotech, and featured in-depth discussions on emergency communication, crisis coordination, and incident response strategies.
Key speakers included Mr Duccio Mazarese (Programme Officer, UNICRI), Ms Andrea Rodríguez Panagiotopoulos (Programme Manager, UNOCT), and Mr Peter Jordan (Head of Insights, TOPOSOPHY), who shared valuable insights and best practices for coordinating crisis responses at local, national, and regional levels.
The session underscored the importance of maintaining clear and effective communication with tourists, businesses, and authorities, and emphasised the need for robust coordination mechanisms to enable rapid and efficient crisis responses.
