The European Commission has opened the registrations for the launch event of the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform. The event will be held online on 6 February 2025, from 14.00-16.30 CET, to mark the inauguration of a new space for the community working to strengthen local economies and advance social innovation..
Participants will gain insight into the progress of the Transition Pathway for the ecosystem, including the outcomes of the latest pledge cycle, and learn how they can submit new pledges to showcase their commitments. The event also offers a guided tour through the platform, showing how users can engage with the content provided, locate the right opportunities, funding information, share achievements and network effectively. The discussion will explore how the Platform can best support its members and sector stakeholders.
A key highlight of the programme, the ‘Voices of the Ecosystem’ session, will showcase perspectives from influential community members, reflecting the diversity of the proximity and social economy sectors. Discussions will explore current trends and opportunities for collaboration to support the twin digital and green transitions. The Ambassador programme for the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform will be introduced to recognise the leaders already championing the ecosystem.
Launched to provide a dedicated space for stakeholders to collaborate and inspire collective action, the EU Proximity and Social Economy platform is now open for registration. It supports those who work towards strengthening social entrepreneurship, advancing local economic development and contributing to Europe’s green and digital transition.
This event is a unique opportunity to discover the platform’s value, connect with experts across Europe, and join a growing community committed to shaping a sustainable future. The initiative is part of a European Commission-led project, implemented by a consortium of EY, DIESIS, EURICSE, and Social Economy Europe.
Registration for the event is now open, and all stakeholders are warmly encouraged to attend. Click here to register.
