The European Commission has launched a call for evidence to support the forthcoming revision of the EU Air Services Regulation—the legal framework governing air transport operations within the EU internal market. This framework covers key aspects such as market access, pricing, and operational freedoms. The revision aims to modernise the regulations in light of lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, evolving market dynamics, and environmental objectives.
The Commission is seeking early feedback to help shape a more resilient, consumer-oriented, affordable, reliable, socially and environmentally sustainable, and globally competitive aviation sector. Stakeholders—including national authorities, airlines, airports, consumer and passenger groups, aircrew representatives, travel intermediaries, environmental organisations, and other interested parties—are encouraged to submit their views via the Commission’s portal by 11 June 2025.
