The 5th International Symposium on High-Speed Rail Socioeconomic Impacts, held online from 9th to 10th September 2025 by the International Union of Railways (UIC), aims to explore recent research on the economic and societal effects of investments in high-speed rail systems. The symposium will include a Best Paper Award contest, with prizes sponsored by the Asian Development Bank Institute and the Italian Society of Transport Economics and Logistics. Presentations and papers on topics such as productivity, land use, tourism, property markets and transport integration can be submitted by May 15, 2025. The registration is free of charge and possible via the link provided on the website.
