The Interreg Sweden–Norway programme has launched a funding call for cross-border projects that promote innovation, sustainability, social cohesion, and cooperation between the two countries, with applications due by 15 September 2025.

The Interreg Sweden–Norway programme has opened a new call for cross-border cooperation initiatives aimed at enhancing regional development between Sweden and Norway. Projects may be submitted under four thematic priorities:
- A Smarter Border Region – Strengthening innovation capacity and SME competitiveness
- A Greener Border Region – Promoting climate resilience and circular economy practices
- A More Social Border Region – Supporting a shared labour market, lifelong learning, and the cultural and tourism sectors
- A Stronger Border Region – Enhancing cross-border cooperation capacity
Eligible applicants include public authorities, municipalities, regional bodies, trade associations, and non-profit organisations from both countries.
Funding details:
- Sweden: Up to 65% of project costs covered by EU funds, with a maximum contribution of EUR 60,000
- Norway: Up to 50% of project costs covered by Norwegian Interreg (IR) funds, with a maximum of EUR 30,000 (approx. NOK 300,000)
- The funding ratio between EU and Norwegian IR funds must be maintained at 70/30
Applicants must submit two separate applications—one for EU funding and one for Norwegian IR funding—by 15 September 2025, via the platform link provided on the left-hand side (The original piece available only in Swedish).
