The Interreg Sweden–Norway programme has opened a new call for cross-border cooperation initiatives aimed at enhancing regional development between Sweden and Norway. Projects may be submitted under four thematic priorities:

  • A Smarter Border Region – Strengthening innovation capacity and SME competitiveness
  • A Greener Border Region – Promoting climate resilience and circular economy practices
  • A More Social Border Region – Supporting a shared labour market, lifelong learning, and the cultural and tourism sectors
  • A Stronger Border Region – Enhancing cross-border cooperation capacity

Eligible applicants include public authorities, municipalities, regional bodies, trade associations, and non-profit organisations from both countries.

Funding details:

  • Sweden: Up to 65% of project costs covered by EU funds, with a maximum contribution of EUR 60,000
  • Norway: Up to 50% of project costs covered by Norwegian Interreg (IR) funds, with a maximum of EUR 30,000 (approx. NOK 300,000)
  • The funding ratio between EU and Norwegian IR funds must be maintained at 70/30

Applicants must submit two separate applications—one for EU funding and one for Norwegian IR funding—by 15 September 2025, via the platform link provided on the left-hand side (The original piece available only in Swedish).
