Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) and Turismo de Portugal have launched the "Tourism + Sustainable Support Line" to support companies in the Portuguese tourism sector in implementing projects that promote energy transition, carbon neutrality, and sustainable practices. This initiative, with a budget of up to 50 million euros, offers mutual guarantee coverage of up to 80% of the financing value and the possibility of conversion into a non-refundable grant of up to 30%.
Financed by Turismo de Portugal and managed by BPF, this support line is available to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Small Mid Cap, Mid Cap, and Large Companies. Eligible companies must be located in Portugal, operate within the specified activities (such as hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tour operators, other reservation services, and more), and participate in the 360º Tourism Companies Programme, which encourages the adoption of an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) agenda. For more details, please follow the link on the left-hand side of the platform.
